Scott: My Family made me strong

Scott: My Family made me strong

Actually I planned to do interviews with strong women. A couple of them have been published so far. After reading one of these interviews Scott was so thrilled that he asked as well for an interview. And hey, we all love a good story, and Scott has to tell one. So thanks so much, Scott, for joining us today.

Tell us about yourself:

My name is Scott Lenig. I am a 24 year old Writer and I unload trucks at a dock to earn extra money. Hey, you have to pay the bills some how. I live alone but I do have an older Sister, and of course a Mom and Dad.

We do have our issues, but some how I would not trade them for the world. Good bad or otherwise, they helped make me what I am today and for that, I am thankful.

How would you describe the relationship to your mother?

My relationship with my Mom has had it’s ups and downs over the years. But the trials and tribulations we have faced have only brought us closer to each other in the long run. Though you probably wont get either of us to admit that, usually.

Do you think that your life is easier/more difficult than your Mother’s life?

Truth be told, neither of us have had the easiest life. Both of us were abused by our Fathers. We both had to work harder, seemingly, than most, to earn what we have today. We have both shed our fair share of sweat, blood and tears.

But some how, she has always been able to handle the tough times, much better than I have. She is most definitely the stronger one out of the two of us. I will say that her life has been easier. But only because she has been able to handle the bad stuff, emotionally, much better than I ever could and she was always there to help me up when I was down.

I have always respected her so much for that. Again, this is something you won’t normally get me to admit.

Who is the most interesting person you have met in your life?
What makes this person interesting for you?

I have met lots of interesting people including George W. Bush. But the most interesting by far is my Niece Britney. It is hard to point out exactly what makes her so interesting, to anyone who has not met her, but she is the kindest, gentlest and most caring person I have ever known.

There is a spark that shines bright within her and I can tell that she is going to grow up to be a powerful and influential person. She is the kind of person who has never met a stranger and even at such a young age, she has managed to help so many in so many ways and had a great impact in the world already. I am proud of her and love her to death.

What would you never change about yourself?

My thirst for knowledge. I love learning and reading about everything. I have a goal that is impossible to reach. My goal is to learn everything! I may not be able to achieve this goal, but I will die trying!

A particular area of interest, when it comes to learning, is the paranormal. I would love to learn the truth about Ghosts, Aliens, UFO’s and all that. I would love to know for sure just what these things are if anything. Wouldn’t you?

Is there anything you would change about yourself?

My confidence level. I do a good job of hiding it. But deep down I have low confidence. I am harder on myself than anyone. I am building confidence but I wish I could have more confidence, right now. Does that make me impatient?

Humans are people with strong habits. What is the habit you won’t skip?

I have a nasty nervous habit. For as long as I can remember I have picked at my lip when I am stressed out. Sometimes I do it too much and it ends up bleeding. Yuck!

I have tried many times to quit, but habits are so hard to break!

What do you think, makes you strong?

I have survived many things that most people should not even have to dream of going through. I said before that while my family has it’s issues, I would not trade them for the world. They made me what I am today. What I am today is a kind, passionate person who enjoys helping others.

Sure, I wish I did not have to go through the things I did, as a child. But they made me stronger. They made me independent and they made me a survivor. So in a weird, twisted way. My bad childhood, is what makes me strong today.

Do you have a motto?

I have a couple that I have written myself over the years.

“When things are looking dark, remember that the sun is just over the horizon. Keep walking and things will get brighter.”

“ The one thing that never changes is the fact that things will always change”

What they mean is, simply to keep on going and never give up. Things will get better. You just have to stay strong and always keep fighting to live. To survive. To grow and to be happy.

Never let anyone stand in the way of your life and your personal progress; And if it is looking like some one is able to hold you back from making progress. Just remember my motto’s.

You have to leave to an island and can take five items with you.
Which items would that be and why?

Ah, this old question. I would have to take music and a way to play it (Does that count as one thing or two?) Music just moves my soul and brightens my day. Music is such a powerful thing. I can’t live with out it.

I need a fishing pole with me, so I can catch fish to eat. Plus,  I just love to fish, though I have not been in a long time. I would bring pen and paper so I could write. This would be both entertainment and stress relief for me.

Also, I would have to bring the woman of my dreams. As company of course. Granted, I have not met this woman yet. But if anyone knows who she is. Let me know.

If you could be an animal, which one would you be?

I would be a Dog.

First of all, I love Dogs. But think about it. Not many animals have an easier life than a Dog. They get to lay around the house all day. Everything they need is just handed to them and they can do anything they want, as long as they do a trick for their owner every now and then.

Sounds kind of nice to me.

What do you first spot when meeting another person?

The first thing that really jumps out at me is their personality. I catch on very quickly to what type of person you are. Funny, serious, mean, nice. This was something I learned very young. I don’t trust people easily and I learned to tell if you are safe to be around.

Anything else you would like to tell our readers?

Never give up on your hopes and dreams. There will always be people who stand in your way, but you cannot let that bother you.  Find out what makes you happy in life and do that. Don’t worry about what other people think of you. Do what makes you happy and you will live a great life.
